Among those that supported a sausage sizzle at the Traralgon Branch of the Bendigo Bank was “Edward” the dog who barked a “yes” for sauce and a “thank you” for serving him, much to the amusement of staff and customers! The day was classed a huge success with donated sausages from Rutters and bread from Traralgon Hot Bread! A stall was an added opportunity to display and sell home made cakes, preserves, and cheesecakes, and a raffle with 1st prize of hand made chocolates from Chocodence in Metung, and a display of Easter goodies donated by the Kitchen Cupboard as second prize! The day was a fundraiser for Emily Buxton whose mother had a heart transplant and is now enduring terminal cancer! The day was organised by The Traralgon Cancer Council and raised $900! The money was deposited into a Bendigo Bank account on Emily’s behalf. It was a joy to see a very humble Sam Johnson receive a Gold Logie for portraying “Molly “Meldrum in the mini series he starred in last year! The Traralgon Cancer Council were honoured to host an Afternoon Tea with Sam as guest speaker, and to hear of his important role as chief fan of sister Connie and how much they have done in their role as Love Your Sister ambassadors for Cancer research! Currently Connie’s treatment has finished but her wish to make the biggest heart from 5 cent pieces is still alive! All donations can be left at The Bendigo Bank or at www.loveyoursister.org. During May the Traralgon Cancer Council are holding a Mothers Day raffle, and a Biggest Morning Tea will be held on 25th May at The Traralgon RSL in Grey Street Starting at 10:00 am.
