Winter just got even better, with ice skating coming to Dinner Plain Alpine Village these July school holidays. A pop-up rink will operate in the snow village for nine days from Saturday 8 July to Sunday 16 July. Alia Parker, Marketing and Events Officer, Dinner Plain, said the ice skating rink will add to the exciting line up of family snow activities happening in the village. “From free tobogganing and cross country ski trails, our beginner ski slope and tube slide, sled dog rides and alpine laser skirmish in the snow, and now ice skating, there’s plenty to keep the whole family busy these holidays,” Ms Parker said. She said this year’s ski season kicks off with the annual fireworks in the village centre on Saturday June 10 and runs through to the end of September. “July is the most popular time of year for visitors coming to Dinner Plain, followed by the Dinner Plain Sled Dog Challenge weekend on August 12-13 when accommodation books out, so we always advise to book your accommodation early,” she said.
