About the role

At Aruma we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with disabilities. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join us in this important mission. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and tailored support to individuals with physical and mental disabilities.

We offer 24/7 shifts from Monday to Sunday, including active shifts and every 2nd weekend. We welcome applications from candidates who are partially qualified or passionate individuals seeking a new career. Various shifts available. e.g. 24/7 - 6 am to 9.30 am / 3.30 pm – 9 pm / 8 pm to 8 am.

*Casual opportunities also available, must be available for shift work and weekends.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering personalised care and assistance to clients in their daily activities.
  •  Assisting with mobility, personal hygiene, and medication management.
  • Implementing care plans developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in the health and well-being of clients.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to enhance the overall quality of life.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for clients.

About You:

  • Passionate about human rights and creating positive change.
  • Empathetic and compassionate, with a keen understanding of diverse experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills to be the voice that resonates with others.
  • Enthusiastic team player, eager to collaborate and inspire.
  • Seeking a career change for growth and development, eager to learn knowledge through on-the-job learning.
  • Previous experience in disability support, particularly in high complex care settings is highly regarded.
  • Certification or qualifications in disability support, aged care, or a related field is highly regarded.
