An exciting new addition to Main Street of Foster has provided interest and enthusiasm for the local community. The relocation of Linton Court Op Shop from the old shire offices in Pioneer Street to number 18 Main Street, Foster has increased accessibility for locals and tourists. The hard work of a team of volunteers has paid off, resulting in the creation of a quality boutique second hand store. Doing so has increased the revenue raised for the community that is shared equally between two important non-profit organisations, Linton Court Retirement Village, who provide affordable independent living units for older people and Prom Country Aged Care, who provide residential aged care to over 60 locals.
To cope with the number of large ticket furniture items donated and the limited space in the new shop, it was decided to open a “pop-up” op shop in the old Dower garage site (opposite the police station) over the Christmas period. The pop-up shop focusing on the sale of quality furniture, antiques, artwork and unusual items, while the Op Shop in Main Street focuses on clothing and quality bric-a-brac items. Foster is now hosting two sites that sell quality recycled items! Come in and have a look at the range next time you visit. The Main Street Op Shop is open 6 days a week, Monday – Friday 10.00am to 4.00pm. The Pop-Up Shop is open Thursday to Saturday – 10.00am to 2.00pm. Well worth the visit.
