On Friday 28th of April it’s the Newry Community Film Night!
The young and old alike of Newry and surrounding areas get together to enjoy a good film and showcase local businesses, in the process raising the funds to re-instate a bore at the Newry Hall.
The film for this event is the fantastic “Hunt for the Wilderpeople” starring screen legend Sam Neill as something of a gruff loner and featuring a both hilarious and surprisingly touching performance by young New Zealander Julian Dennison. The movie is directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed the award-winning New Zealand Films “Boy”, “Eagle vs Shark” and “What we do in the Shadows”. Having made a name for himself in New Zealand, he is currently directing the Hollywood superhero blockbuster Thor: Ragnarok in the US. The Gippslander highly recommends “Hunt for the Wilderpeople” if you have the chance to see it.
Enjoy a great night and support the Newry Hall bore project.
