The Gippsland and East Gippsland Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd (GEGAC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Admin Finance Officer within the Finance Team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager your duties will include (not limited to):
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Asset and contract Management
- Assisting with EOM and EOY processes, reporting and compliance
- Assisting the Finance Manager with budgeting process and compliance
- Other financial and administrative tasks as directed.
This is a great opportunity to work closely with the Finance Manager in learning the business and developing your accounting abilities. GEGAC is a large not for profit organisation offering Aboriginal Health Services, with large potential for growth and development for the successful candidate.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is highly advantageous.

GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based on Gunaikurnai Country in Bairnsdale, Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not for Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.

Position Purpose
The Administration & Finance Officer is an important part of the Finance team with the responsibility of processing, tracking, recording and reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure the organisation keeps on track and on time with their commitments and reporting deadlines. In addition to accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, the Administration and Finance Officer undertakes other related financial and administrative tasks which contribute to the overall responsibilities and tasks of the Finance team, including the management of petty cash and vouchers, supporting the team during financial audits and general administrative tasks.

- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Victorian Aboriginal Health, Aboriginal culture and the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated while working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated capacity to maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
- High level of customer service and accountability with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external account holders and internal departments.
- Ability to accurately process high volumes of information.
- Excellent research, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Demonstrated proven ability to work to a high level of accuracy, efficiency and accountability with an exceptional level of attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is highly advantageous.
Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
- Valid Driver’s License ESSENTIAL
- Qualification in accounting, finance or bookkeeping or substantial experience in the field of accounts/finance. ESSENTIAL
- A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
- A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with mandatory vaccination directive applying to authorised workers ESSENTIAL
