This is a rewarding opportunity to join a newly established and progressive mental health program – where you will play a vital role in ensuring participants, carers and their families receive valuable and supportive care.
As our new Wellbeing Navigator Peer, you'll be providing support to program participants to enable them, their families and carers to address their psychosocial, emotional and alcohol and other drug support needs. This role will see you walking alongside our program participants at every step of their time in the program; from the initial conversation, to delivering 1:1 service navigation, care planning, education and capacity building, and is one where you will play a vital role in ensuring participants, carers and their families receive valuable and supportive care.

We are looking for flexibility to join us from 9am – 5pm Monday through Friday but also with availability to support extended operational hours as the service matures, including evening and weekend shifts.
About you
This role is identified for someone who feels comfortable to draw on their personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to support their peers in our community on their own recovery journey.
You’re empathetic and relish opportunities to make meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community. You will also have the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, including alongside team members who have lived and living experience of mental health challenges or as carers of loved ones who do.
You will also need:
- Personal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health services
- Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work, SHARC Peer Worker Training, Intentional Peer Support or willingness to complete.
- 1+ year relevant work experience in a peer worker role
- 100 points of identification
- Evidence of right to work in Australia
- National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check-employment
- NDIS Workers Screening check
- NDIS Worker Orientation module certificate – free online course
- Eligible candidates may have access to incentive payments for relocation expenses as part of the Regional Mental Health workforce Grants Program administered by the Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV).
About Us
Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are free, voluntary, and easy to access, with no referral required. Importantly, these new services will be delivered on the basis of ‘how can we help? and a ‘no wrong door’ approach, focused on giving choice and control over how the consumer wants to receive support. This new service will make it easier for members of our community to access the support they need, closer to home and family, carers, and support networks.
