Terms of Service

Welcome to Gippslander (“Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”), forming a legally binding agreement between you and Gippslander. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

1. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Platform, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activities under your account.

2. Terms for Employers

Employers include individuals or organisations using Gippslander to post jobs, promote roles, or hire talent.

2.1 Job Listings

By posting a job on Gippslander, you agree to the following:

  • Location Requirement: All job listings must be for roles physically based in Gippsland, Victoria. We do not accept fully remote jobs, or roles based outside Gippsland.
  • Business Requirement: You must be a registered Australian business with a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) to advertise on the Platform.
  • Compliance: All listings must comply with applicable laws, including those relating to anti-discrimination, fair work, and employment standards.
  • Accuracy: Job listings must be truthful, up to date, and clearly describe the role and any requirements.
  • Gippslander reserves the right to remove or reject any listings that do not meet these standards.

2.2 Employer Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post misleading, spammy, or fraudulent job listings.
  • Advertise unpaid roles or “opportunities” that are not clearly disclosed as such.
  • Misuse job seeker data or contact applicants for reasons unrelated to the role listed.
  • Post jobs that involve multilevel marketing, pyramid schemes, or commission-only sales unless clearly stated and lawful.

2.3 Subscription and Payment Terms

Gippslander offers two types of paid services for employers:

a. One-Off Job Postings

You may choose to pay a once-off fee to post a single job on the Platform. This fee is charged at the time of purchase and grants you access to the job posting service for the duration specified (e.g., 30 or 45 days). This payment is not part of an ongoing subscription and does not renew automatically.

b. Subscription Plans

Employers with ongoing recruitment needs may choose a monthly subscription plan. Subscriptions are billed automatically on a monthly basis, starting from the date of purchase. You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account dashboard. Cancellation will prevent the next billing cycle but will not refund the current period.

c. General Payment Terms

All prices are displayed in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST unless stated otherwise.

Fees are non-refundable, except where required by Australian Consumer Law. If you believe you are entitled to a refund under law, please contact us via https://gippslander.com.au/contact-us.

3. Terms for Job Seekers

Job seekers include individuals using the Platform to browse, save, or apply for job listings.

3.1 Job Applications

You agree to submit truthful, accurate, and complete information when applying for jobs. Gippslander is not responsible for the hiring process, nor do we guarantee the accuracy of job listings. We encourage all job seekers to conduct their own due diligence before applying.

3.2 Job Seeker Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false or misleading application materials.
  • Harass or spam employers.
  • Misuse the Platform or submit applications for non-genuine purposes.

4. User Content

The Platform may allow you to upload content including job ads, resumes, cover letters, business logos, or messages (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your content, but by submitting it, you grant Gippslander a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, distribute, and modify your User Content as needed to operate and promote the Platform.

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for illegal or unauthorised purposes.
  • Access or attempt to access other users’ accounts without permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the security or functionality of the Platform.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access or copy content.
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and share information.

7. Modifications to the Platform

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or sections of the Platform at any time, without notice. Gippslander is not liable for any resulting impact on access or performance.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gippslander, its directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your use of the Platform, your User Content, or your breach of these Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gippslander shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Victoria.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Platform indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
