The Role
Our Morwell site is located about 150km east of Melbourne, manufacturing a large range of products in yoghurt and dairy desserts including brands such as Farmers Union, Dairy Farmers and Yoplait. Operating 24 hours a day, six days a week across 9 lines the site is highly automated and is the largest yoghurt facility in Australia.
Are you good at working with people and want to lead a team? We are looking for a Team Manager to lead a manufacturing crew of 15 people to ensure the production requirements are met and the team are looked after. Previous people management experience is essential but dairy or food manufacturing experience is beneficial. Other backgrounds or industries will be considered.
This role is a day shift role, Monday to Friday however some shift coverage outside these hours will be required from time to time so you must be flexible to work outside day shift hours on occasion. This role is based on site at Morwell, Victoria.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team to ensure our products are manufactured safely, in full and on time
- Coach and develop team members to achieve targets across the site
- Use problem-solving techniques to resolve non-conformance and other related issues
- Actively seek Continuous Improvement opportunities and translate to action
- Ensure compliance to food safety, environmental and good manufacturing practices are followed
- Support the sites annual operation plans and communicate to teams to ensure cascading of information
About you
- Have a passion for people and want to coach and lead a performing team
- Proven experience influencing stakeholders and ensuring targets are met
- Experience making and implementing change, being a change leader in a previous role
- Continuous improvement mindset and enjoys working on project-based work
- Solid Microsoft office experience and being computer savvy
