Job posting guidelines
Before posting, please read these rules to ensure your job listing is approved.
These guidelines help keep Gippslander fair, relevant, and focused on genuine local employment. Listings that don’t meet these requirements may be edited or removed without notice.
1. Genuine Job Listings Only
All postings must represent a real, currently available position. No advertisements for future opportunities, unpaid trials, business ventures, or network marketing roles.
2. Local Jobs Only
Positions must be located within one of the following Gippsland regions:
- Bass Coast
- South Gippsland
- Baw Baw
- Wellington Shire
- Latrobe Valley
- East Gippsland
Remote or work-from-home roles based outside these areas will not be accepted.
3. One Position Per Listing
Each listing must represent a single job type or role.
Multiple openings for the same position are allowed (e.g. “3 Cleaners – Traralgon”).
4. No Duplicate Listings
You cannot post multiple active job ads for the same role.
Wait until a listing expires or remove the old one before reposting.
5. Clear and Professional Content
Job titles and descriptions must accurately describe the role. Avoid slang, emojis, or all-caps text.
6. Include Contact or Application Details
Each listing must include a valid method for applicants to apply — either through the Gippslander platform or verified contact information.
7. No Third-Party or Aggregated Listings
Only direct employers or authorised representatives may post.
Bulk or scraped listings from other job boards are not accepted.
8. Pay Transparency
Include a pay rate or salary range where possible. Misleading or exaggerated claims about pay or benefits are not allowed.
9. Images and Links
Images must relate directly to the employer or workplace. External links must lead to legitimate business websites or application forms.
10. Duration of Listings
Listings run for their set period (e.g. 30 or 45 days). Reposting the same job early to push it higher in search results is not permitted.
