Job Posting Guidelines
Thanks for choosing Gippslander to advertise your role — we’re proud to support local employers and connect them with jobseekers right across the region. To keep listings relevant, helpful, and easy to find, we ask that all job posts follow the simple guidelines below.
Following these helps your listing get approved quickly, ensures it appears in the right search results, and improves the chances of finding the right person for the job.
To get your listing approved
Each job post must include:
A specific location
You must include the name of a Gippsland town where the role is based.
This allows us to properly index your ad and ensures local jobseekers can find nearby opportunities.
Examples: Sale, Moe, Lakes Entrance, Wonthaggi. Not just “Gippsland”, "East Gippsland" or “Remote.”
A clear job title and description
Let applicants know what the role is, what it involves, and what kind of hours are expected. The more detail you provide, the more likely you'll attract the right candidates.
Your business name
You must include the real name of the hiring business, which will be publicly displayed. This helps build trust and ensures transparency for jobseekers.
An application method
We offer two options:
- Apply through Gippslander – Receive email notifications when someone applies directly through our site.
- External link – Redirect applicants to your own hiring form, website, or ATS.
A local connection
Gippslander is a regional job board for Gippsland. We only accept listings from:
- Businesses based in Gippsland
- Businesses that regularly operate in the region
Remote or work-from-home jobs are only accepted if the business is Gippsland-based.
One job per listing
Each listing should focus on one job role only.
If you're hiring for multiple roles (e.g. barista and kitchen hand), please create a separate listing for each.
This helps:
- Show your job under the correct filters
- Improve search results and visibility
- Avoid confusion for applicants
If we receive a listing with multiple roles, we may ask you to split it before it goes live.
Job type
Be sure to include what type of job it is, so applicants know what to expect. We support the following:
- Full-Time – Ongoing work with regular, set hours
- Part-Time – Fewer weekly hours, usually consistent
- Casual – Flexible or variable shifts, often short-term
- Contract – Fixed-term roles with a clear end date
- Volunteer – Unpaid work for community organisations, charities, or events
Listings we won’t approve
To keep Gippslander high-quality and relevant, we don’t allow:
- Jobs with no specific town or area listed
- Work-from-home roles from businesses not based in Gippsland
- Vague, misleading, or scammy ads
- Listings without a clear job title or business name
- Multilevel marketing (MLM), referral-only, or commission-only offers
- Ads promoting services instead of employment
