About the opportunity
The Home Based Care Program provides high quality case management support to vulnerable children and young people aged 0-18 years who are unable to live with their own families and are placed in the care of volunteer caregivers through emergency, respite, short term or long term placements.
As a Placement Support Worker, you will work collaboratively with children, young people, their families, carers and other stakeholders to ensure desired outcomes are achieved in the context of the child or young person’s needs and case plan. The role will also provide ongoing training and supervision to caregivers, and actively support the development of positive relationships and environments within caregiving households.

About you
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a bachelor level qualification in social work or a related discipline.
You will also have:
- Previous experience in the community services sector (preferred but not essential)
- An understanding of relevant regulations and legislation including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
- Knowledge of the out of home care system and the resources and services available across the Gippsland region
- Ability to work collaboratively with other services, agencies and professionals to achieve optimal client outcomes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
