The Role
Our Morwell site is located about 150km east of Melbourne, manufacturing a large range of products in yoghurt and dairy desserts including brands such as Farmers Union, Dairy Farmers and Yoplait. Operating 24 hours a day, six days a week across 9 lines the site is highly automated and is the largest yoghurt facility in Australia.
An excellent full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced Capital Project Engineer to lead and manage the capital projects in the Morwell site. This role is responsible for all aspects of a project, ensuring targets are met, delivering within safety and quality targets and within relevant industry standards and regulations. We are looking for someone who already has a few years of project engineering experience under their belt and is looking to further grow their skill set.
This is an on-site, Monday to Friday role with flexible start and finish times.
Responsibilities
- Leads projects from initial idea through to completion and liaises with others working on the project as well as leads project close-outs and handovers.
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions through project development and execution meetings
- Provides technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle, conducts risk assessments, and technical evaluations
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders and provide regular project status reporting including project budgets.
- Manage project communications including escalation of issues within teams
- Ensure safe engineering work practices and food safety requirements are met.
About you
- Experience in end-to-end management of capital projects (from business case feasibility study through to scoping, budget management, supplier/contractor management, installation/commissioning and project closeout)
- Sound understanding, commitment and demonstration of safety concepts in a manufacturing plant or other heavy industry
- Team player and have good communication/presentation skills
- Chemical engineering background and/or dairy processing experience is advantageous
