About the Centre
The Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (GRAC) is a state-of-the-art aquatic centre, offering fantastic facilities, including a variety of pools. The fully-equipped gym has modern and functional workout equipment and we offer a variety of group fitness classes The centre also has activities for children, including swimming lessons and AquaPlay. GRAC is owned by Latrobe City Council and managed by YMCA Victoria.
About the role
As a Swim Teacher at GRAC you will be developing and delivering lesson plans that promote swimming skill building in school aged children, combining stroke development with water safety and enhancing the overall confidence and ability of your students.
- Structure and design lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
- Recommend students for level progression as appropriate
- Teach and model effective problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills
This is a Casual role with an hourly rate starting at $32.25 + super & Y Benefits.
About you
You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher!

Essential Qualifications
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
Other Desired Qualifications
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
- Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
- Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
- Teacher of Adults
