About this opportunity
Wellways, a registered provider with the NDIS, offers a range of services including carer support, homeless outreach, and NDIS services across the Gippsland region. We are seeking a dedicated Disabilities Support Worker to provide individual support to participants in line with their NDIS plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with daily living, domestic tasks, social/community participation, and transportation
- Providing care tasks such as showering, toileting, and medication assistance
- Coordinating supports and encouraging participants’ independence
- Promoting improved living arrangements, relationships, and overall health and wellbeing
- Offering work and study support
- Completing program documentation as required
- Adhering to reasonable management requests
The role involves travel to various locations to deliver services as per participants' NDIS plans. The Support Worker will work within the systems of the Department of Health & Human Services, NDIA, and other relevant stakeholders.
Applicants must be responsive to emails, phone messages, and roster changes, and maintain regular supervision as directed by management.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or related fields (an advantage but not mandatory) or relevant experience
- Rights to work in Australia
- Availability and willingness to use a personal smartphone (iPhone or Android)
- A current valid Driver's License and a registered, insured vehicle
- Satisfactory Police Records Check [less than 12 months old] and Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
- NDIS Workers Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
