About the Centre
The Phillip Island Leisure Centre is an important community facility, managed by YMCA Victoria in partnership with the Bass Coast Shire Council.
The YMCA Phillip Island Leisure Centre is a diverse facility that comprises a variety of programs and services to suit the needs of the community. The ever expanding ranges of programs are developed with the ideals of "access for everyone". The facility comprises a fully equipped health club, group fitness room, one court multi-purpose stadium, virtual fitness room and sauna and squash court. Programs include Pre Gym, Gymnastics and a variety of other children’s sports programs.
About the Role
The Gymnastics Coordinator is a key member of the facility’s leadership team, responsible for leading the Gymnastics Program and its staff to ensure high-quality program delivery. This role combines coaching and leadership, where you will inspire and motivate your team while actively contributing to program sustainability and excellence.
In this position, you will manage and support staff within the Gymnastics Program, setting clear team goals and ensuring adherence to facility policies and procedures. As part of the coaching team, you will deliver gymnastics sessions, ensuring they meet agreed standards of safety and service.
Additionally, you will serve as Gymnastics Coach floor leader when rostered, supporting staff and customers across all areas of the facility, and acting as a delegate of the Duty Supervisor when needed.
This role is ideal for a dynamic leader passionate about gymnastics, coaching, and team development.
This is a part-time position with an hourly starting rate of $33.52 + Super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Gymnastics Program team, fostering a positive, goal-driven work environment.
- Develop and deliver high-quality gymnastics programs that focus on sustainability and excellence.
- Actively coach as part of the program while providing mentorship to staff.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of safety and service.
- Serve as delegate of duty supervisor when required, offering support to staff and customers across the facility.
Key Skills:
- Experience in leading and coaching within a gymnastics or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve program goals.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service and maintaining safety standards.
Essential Qualifications
- Beginner Gymnastics / Fundamental Gymnastics Coaching Qualification (Includes Principles of Coaching in Gym for All, Kinder gym, MAG or WAG)
- Gymnastics Victoria Technical Membership
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
