CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal Special Care unit, four operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students from a range of different health disciplines.
About the Role
At CGH, graduate Registered Nurse/Registered Midwives complete a 12-month rotation within the Women’s and Children’s Unit, providing the opportunity to develop both nursing and midwifery skills. Graduates gain experience delivering women-centred care across all stages of pregnancy — antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal — while also consolidating general nursing skills through the care of adult medical and surgical patients, as well as neonates in the Special Care Nursery.
