Heyfield Bus Service, with a fleet of small and large buses located throughout Gippsland is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join its operations at its Heyfield workshop for approx 24hrs per week (negotiable)
The Role – What You’ll Be Doing:
As a key member of the Heyfield Bus Service workshop team, you will:
- Help ensure our fleet of buses are safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.
- Perform essential services like oil changes, filter replacements, and brake checks.
- Tackle preventative maintenance tasks to keep our vehicles running smoothly.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, from minor fixes to major engine overhauls.
- Take vehicles for test drives to troubleshoot and pinpoint issues.
We Are Looking for Applicants With…
- Formal qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a relevant automotive trade
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, ideally in the bus or coach industry
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and remedy vehicle issues
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and practical hands-on skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Current driver's license and the ability to operate a range of heavy vehicles
