About the program
The Home Based Care Program provides high quality case management support to vulnerable children and young people aged 0-18 years who are unable to live with their own families and are placed in the care of volunteer caregivers through emergency, respite, short term or long term placements.
Your new role
As a Placement Support Worker, you will work collaboratively with children, young people, their families, carers and other stakeholders to ensure desired outcomes are achieved in the context of the child or young person’s needs and case plan. The role will also provide ongoing training and supervision to caregivers, and actively support the development of positive relationships and environments within caregiving households.

Your skills and experience
You will bring with you:
- Bachelor qualifications in Social Work / Welfare or related field
- Current Victorian drivers licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe environments for children and young people and protect them from abuse and neglect.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding the out-of-home care system and the available resources and services in Gippsland
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with adults, adolescents, children and sector representatives.
