About the Role:
Working within a commercial kitchen facility, Catering Team Members play a key role in supporting our community by providing consistent, reliable and most importantly, nourishing meals in a safe, welcoming place. The role assists with preparing and serving food under the guidance and support of the Catering Team Leader. An ideal role for those who enjoy cooking in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Meal preparation and service: With guidance and instruction from the Catering Team Leader, Catering Team Members prepare meals according to the planned menu and the number of meals required.
· Set up and clean up: With a keen eye for neatness and hygiene, Team Members assist with initial set up, clearing of tables, pack up, wash up and waste disposal.
· Manage stocks and storage: Applying high regard for food safety standards, Team Members assist with ensuring food stocks are replenished and within use by dates, and all food items are stored and labelled correctly.

Training Requirements:
One of the many ways we care for people is by ensuring our workers are well equipped with the necessary knowledge to complete their role safely. To successfully undertake this role, the following training is required:
· Foundational training which includes an introduction to The Salvation Army, code of conduct training, work-safe and child-safe practices.
· Food Handling Certificates as required
