Bairnsdale Christian College (BCC) is Prep-10 co-ed Christian school situated in Bairnsdale VIC. BCC is a child safe organisation which welcomes all children, young people and their families.
We are committed to providing environments where our students are safe and feel safe, where their participation is valued, their views respected, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Our child safe policies, strategies and practices are inclusive of the needs of all children and students.
We have no tolerance for child abuse and take proactive steps to identify and manage any risks of harm to students in our school environments.

Inappropriate or harmful behaviour targeting students based on these or other characteristics, such as racism or homophobia, are not tolerated at our school, and any instances identified will be addressed with appropriate consequences.
Child safety is a shared responsibility. Every person involved in our school has an important role in promoting child safety and wellbeing and promptly raising any issues or concerns about a child’s safety.
We are committed to regularly reviewing our child safe practices, and seeking input from our students, families, staff, and volunteers to inform our ongoing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class support to students with diverse learning needs under the direction of teachers.
Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and learning adjustments.
Support students’ social and emotional wellbeing within the classroom and playground settings.
Prepare and adapt learning materials as directed.
Contribute to the smooth running of classroom routines and general school activities.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to promote student success.

Essential Criteria

A genuine commitment to supporting the learning and wellbeing of children and young people.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Sensitivity, patience, and confidentiality in working with students with additional needs.
Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
