Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Nurse Unit Manager Theatre to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing.
The Nurse Unit Manager (Theatre) provides strategic, clinical and operational leadership for the Operating Suites at Latrobe Regional Health. The role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred perioperative care within a multidisciplinary environment, aligned with current best practice, organisational objectives and legislative requirements.
The position oversees all aspects of department performance, including workforce management, budget accountability, patient flow, quality and safety outcomes, and service development. The Nurse Unit Manager plays a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture, maintaining operational efficiency and supporting continuous improvement across theatre services.

The role of the Nurse Unit Manager Theatre is to:
- Lead the operational management of the Operating Suites, ensuring safe, efficient and patient‑centred service delivery.
- Manage workforce requirements including recruitment, rostering, staffing levels, skill mix, performance management and professional development.
- Oversee departmental budgets, performance indicators and resource utilisation to achieve organisational and Department of Health targets.
- Drive quality improvement, innovation, policy development and risk management initiatives to enhance patient and service outcomes.
- Monitor patient flow and support effective coordination of perioperative services across multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide leadership in complaint management, change implementation, clinical governance and operational decision‑making.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, including postgraduate qualifications in Perioperative Nursing, Management or a related discipline.
- Strong leadership capability with demonstrated experience managing staff, performance, service delivery and operational outcomes.
- Extensive clinical expertise, including a minimum of five years’ relevant nursing experience and sound knowledge of perioperative practice.
- Well‑developed organisational, financial and problem‑solving skills, with a commitment to quality improvement and continuous professional development.
- Evidence of recent professional development and ongoing engagement with contemporary perioperative nursing practice (desirable).
