About the program
The Gippsland Youth Residential Youth Rehabilitation Program (GYRRP) provides a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week residential service to young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing concerns relating to their drug and alcohol use.
Your new role
Working closely with a team of AOD Support Worker, as a Youth Mental Health Counsellor you will:
- Provide one on one mental health counselling to highly complex young people
- Develop individual treatment plans tailored to the needs of each young person and their family
- Facilitate group work education sessions
- Coordinate care team meetings
- Equip young people with tools and resources to support their mental health

Your skills and experience
You will bring with you:
- A tertiary qualification in a health/welfare related discipline such as social work, youth work, mental health or psychology
- Competencies in dual diagnosis (or willingness to complete within first 24 months of employment)
- Previous experience working within the AOD and Mental Health sectors
- Experience in the facilitating group work
- Experience in developing individual treatment plans, post withdrawal and discharge planning
