BRHS Registrar Training Program – Emergency Department
BRHS has an exciting opportunity to join our Registrar training program and gain significant skills and experience in a regional location.
The BRHS Emergency Department (ED)
ED SMOs (FACEM, FACRRM and CMOs) provide 24/7 trauma and emergency healthcare to the East Gippsland region. The ED includes 8 acute cubicles, a treatment room, plaster room, behavioural assessment room, fast-track room, and a 5-bed short-stay unit. ED SMOs are onsite from 08:00 to 24:00 every day and provide on-call support overnight. Additional support in Anaesthetics and Obstetrics is provided by GP VMOs.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to complete your training supported by a team of highly skilled emergency consultants. You'll benefit from exposure to a broad variety of patient presentations, including emergency paediatrics. The role is accredited for advanced skills with both general practice colleges (RACGP and ACRRM) and boasts high exam success rates.
BRHS provides weekly emergency medicine education and supports registrars completing the ACEM Emergency Certificate or Emergency Diploma. You’ll also enjoy a great work/life balance in the stunning Gippsland Lakes area.
Applicant Requirements
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent)
- General Registration or eligibility for Provisional Registration (minimum AHPRA level 3 supervision for IMGs & PESCI pass if requested)
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (required prior to commencement for international candidates)
- Minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including extensive experience in an Emergency Medicine setting
- AMC Parts 1 & 2 passed
- Competence in advanced life support techniques
