Help power a fair, resilient local food system. Manna Gum Community House seeks a Project Coordinator to drive the Bass Coast South Gippsland Food System Alliance (FSA)—a partnership of community orgs, councils, producers, and volunteers delivering real impact.
About the Alliance
The Alliance is a transformative movement aimed at building a local food system across Bass Coast and South Gippsland rooted in resilience, fairness, and connection. Current initiatives: To Market – To Market, Preserve & Thrive, The Mobile Grocer, Healthy Soil, Healthy People. Funded through a VicHealth Local Partnerships: Food First (2025–2029) program. Host: Manna Gum Community House, Foster.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate four initiatives to scope, plan, deliver, and report on time and budget.
- Track milestones, risks, and spend; keep shared records tidy and current.
- Prepare clear progress reports for partners and funders.
- Connect councils, community groups, and producers; coordinate meetings and events.
You bring
- Proven coordination across multiple community projects.
- Budget tracking and basic finance/reporting skills.
- Sharp writing, confident comms, stakeholder savvy.
- Strong organisation and time management.
- Understanding of food systems, food security, sustainability, or community development.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
- Vic driver’s licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Tertiary qual in Community Development, Project Management, Sustainability, Ag, Business Admin, or similar; or equivalent experience.
- Nice to have: alliance/partnership experience, grant reporting, local knowledge, WWC/Police Check (or willing to obtain).
The offer
- 0.5 FTE (19 hrs/week) with flexible work and time-in-lieu.
- Hybrid: Home + Manna Gum Community House, Foster.
- 12-month fixed term with potential extension.
- Classification: NHACE 2024, Schedule 3C. Salary per agreement, DOE.
- Reimbursements: Reasonable travel expenses per policy.
