The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Team Manager – Manufacturing to join our dynamic team and play a key role in delivering high-quality products while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The incumbent's standard working hours will be from Monday to Sunday early morning 12h shift (6PM start – 6AM finish & 6 AM start – 6 PM start).
Our Morwell site is located about 150km east of Melbourne, manufacturing a large range of products in yoghurt and dairy desserts including brands such as Farmers Union, Dairy Farmers and Yoplait. Operating 24 hours a day, six days a week across 9 lines the site is highly automated and is the largest yoghurt facility in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Supervising & leading a team of production workers to deliver high quality products, on time.
- Monitoring established performance indicators, including variance reports, production reports, quality reports, and injury reports
- Ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations to minimise industrial injuries and meet regulatory requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement by supporting TRACC initiatives, facilitating problem-solving (DMAIC, 5 Whys), embedding standard work, and identifying opportunities for value creation.
- Managing work schedules to achieve planned commitments
About you
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of quality system, including HACCP and GMP
- Problem-solving skills – process-based decision-making and conflict resolution
- Leadership skills – ability to coach and influence team members
- Computer literacy – experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and other similar systems and software.
