Whorled Specialist Behaviour Support Services provides specialist behaviour intervention supports to individuals who have a disability and their support network.
Behaviour Support Practitioners provide person-centred developmental, clinical and therapeutic interventions to reduce significant behaviours of concern that impact an individual’s quality of life.
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you would work closely with these people to develop and write Functional Behaviour Assessments and Positive Behaviour Support Plans that assist in addressing and reducing significant presenting behaviours of concern that are impacting upon the individual’s quality of life.
Behaviour Support Practitioners undertake comprehensive Functional Behaviour Assessment, using direct and indirect data sources to develop, write and implement recommendations that address presenting behaviours of concern and seek to reduce or eliminate them.
Behaviour Support Practitioners prepare Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans and provide oversight of any Regulated Restrictive Practices in use. This information is comprehensively documented and plans are authorised and registered with the NDIS in accordance with their Quality and Safeguarding requirements.
Behaviour Support Practitioners collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, utilising excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships.
Behaviour Support Practitioners provide ongoing training and support for stakeholders and support workers to enable them to implement behaviour interventions effectively.
Behaviour Support Practitioners are offered Professional Development opportunities to develop and refine their professional practice. Ongoing clinical supervision and support is provided.
Required
- Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health (OT, Psychology) Social Sciences (Welfare, Social work) or similar.

- Current Drivers licence
- Core, Proficient, Advanced or Specialist Practitioner Registration against the PBS Capability Framework or meet above criteria and willing to undertake activities to achieve required registration.

- Monitor implementation of interventions and support stakeholders to maintain support appropriately.
