Our Opal Maryvale Paper Mill has a new opportunity available for a Despatch Manager to join the Planning and Logistics team. Reporting to the Planning and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for managing all activities within the Maryvale despatch warehouses.
In this role you will work collaboratively with the team to despatch product from Maryvale to domestic and overseas customers.
The key focus of this role will be to:
- Drive safety performance for all despatch points across the Maryvale Mill site
- Take responsibility for storage and inventory control of finished product
- Lead and manage all warehouse team members and contractors
- Utilize data to and stakeholder insights with the aim to drive optimization in relevant areas (such as: improvement of truck turnaround times, including management of time slots and picking/staging practices)
- Monitor orders and operator to improve reliability of on time performance
- Ensure our finished product is dispatched in a condition which meets quality expectations of our customer

For this role, we are ideally seeking candidates who possess:
- Extensive logistics, warehousing or production experience
- Prior experience in building & maintaining relationships to leading teams within warehouse/ logistics environments
- Experience in managing site safety and ensuring
- Ability to communicate & engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of planning and logistics processes
- Prioritization skills and the ability to be adaptable
- Experience working with systems such as SAP or WMS would be viewed favourably
