We are seeking a dedicated Quality and Compliance Manager to oversee quality assurance initatives and ensure compliance with regulations, all while fostering an enviorement that respects and intergrates traditional practices. Your leadership will create safety and drive continious improvement.
Organisational Profile
GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC advocates for the self-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that enhance social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, with culture at the heart of everything we do.
Position Purpose
Working within the Strategy and Compliance Team and reporting to the Director, the Quality and Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of the organisation in meeting its legislative and regulatory requirements regarding, Quality and Risk. The position will provide leadership in embedding Aboriginal cultural values across the organisations Quality Governance framework and systems to honour our culture while driving excellence in quality and risk management.
Key Selection Criteria
- Thorough understanding of risk management principles and frameworks together with demonstrated experience in risk control and dealing with incidents.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and conducting internal audits, specifically in the community services sector.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a policy framework and developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Ability to work with groups of staff to ensure that deliverables are completed in a diligent and timely manner.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills including a demonstrated ability to prepare reports using clear, concise language.
- Highly developed work organisation and project management skills with the capacity to manage competing prioritieis to respond effectively to emerging needs of the Business.
- A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, use of IT / other software, office machinery and administrative processes.
- Experience in the Not for Profit and/or public health sector.
Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
- Driver licence ESSENTIAL
- Qualification in a relevant field ie. Quality, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Cert 4 or above DESIRABLE
- Current First Aid Certificate ESSENTIAL
- Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
- A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC requirements ESSENTIAL
