THE ROLE
Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality meals and refreshments that meet each resident's individual nutritional needs and preferences. This is a hands-on kitchen role with real variety across meal service, functions, and the resident cafe.
- Prepare and produce food items, including therapeutic diets and special meals, to a high standard
- Follow recipe cards and prepare defined menus in a timely and consistent manner
- Assist the Head Chef with day-to-day compliance with the Food Safety Program guidelines
- Maintain high standards of food handling and hygiene across all kitchen activities
- Assist with stock inventory and ordering
- Deliver meals across dining areas within the residence
- Support the retail cafe area and assist with function planning and delivery
ABOUT YOU
You are a qualified Chef who takes pride in the food you produce and genuinely enjoys working as part of a team. Aged care kitchen experience is highly regarded, but if you are coming from hospitality and want your work to mean more, we encourage you to apply.
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent trade qualification)
- Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate (required)
- Previous experience in menu planning, ordering, and special diet preparation
- Experience in residential aged care catering (highly regarded but not essential)
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach and genuine respect for the people you work alongside
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
- Proof of working rights in Australia
