GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC advocates for the self-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that enhance social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, with culture at the heart of everything we do.
Position Purpose
Additional Educator to join the Dala Yooro Team, to support to compacity to provide quality education and care while supporting the team to implement school readiness outcomes, while meeting the individual needs of all children.
Key Selection Criteria
· Experience in early childhood education and care, parenting approaches and early childhood development.
· Experience in planning and coordination programs/projects.
· Experience in working in cross-cultural settings, working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities.
· Proven ability to work in a flexible and client focus way.
· Demonstrated capability to meet the key responsibilities of this position.
Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
· Driver licence. ESSENTIAL
· An approved minimum Certificate III level Education and care qualification or equivalent in accordance with the Education and Care Services National regulations (2011) ESSENTIAL
· A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
· A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander backgroundDESIRABLE
· Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC requirements ESSENTIAL
