Manager – Activity Based Funding Unit

Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight with optional Accrued Day Off

Responsibility and leadership await you as Manager of the Activity Based Funding (ABF) Unit for West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG).  Reporting to the Director Business Intelligence and working closely with Manager of Health Information Services (HIS), you will provide support to coders, data analysts and clinicians. Your primary purpose is to ensure WGHG NWAU targets are monitored and achieved and that reporting is delivered in a timely manner with accuracy, whilst driving continuous data quality improvements.  This is a specialized role for an auditing whiz, a guru in coding, DRGs and Casemix and/or a competent educator.  Offering full-time hours with 5 weeks’ annual leave, an optional ADO, and a salary based on your experience and qualifications.

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Experience working in clinical coding or Activity Based Funding in the Public Hospital Sector.
  • A experience in Health Information Management.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support.
  • A thorough understanding and respect for confidentiality requirements.
  • Awareness of clinical coding skills using ICD-10-AM, and an understanding of Casemix/DRG's.

 

The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:

  • Understanding of Victorian Health Department policies and ABF funding guidelines.
  • Previous experience in management preferably in clinical coding.
  • Bachelor of Health Information Management or other equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience with coding audit tools.
  • Assist in achieving data integrity for reported data submission relevant to VAED and its associated data sets.
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation and document control.
  • Previous Experience within a hospital or health care environment.

 

 

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
