The Role
ALS Water operates a modern laboratory in Traralgon, equipped with the latest in analytical technology. This is a full-time opportunity for a Laboratory Technician with Microbiology credentials to join our client-focused team.
The successful applicant will receive training and support in the technical components and procedures of the role and in a wide variety of processes associated with working in a modern laboratory.
This is a permanent, full-time position Monday to Friday 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
The day to day
- Preparation and analysis of water and soil samples in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions.
- Interpretation of results and LIMS entry
- Completing tasks accurately, within set timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard.
- Organising daily work to optimise efficiency and meet turnaround requirements
- Maintaining equipment, including calibration and cleaning
- Contributing to a clean, tidy and organised lab environment.
- Assisting with Ad-hock sampling, sample receipt and house-keeping tasks
The Essentials
- Experience in a high throughput, client-focused environment - ideally with commercial laboratory exposure
- Good knowledge of chemistry and demonstrated competency in lab skills
- Effective written and verbal communications, computer literacy.
- Well-organised, task-focused with attention to detail
- Strong team player who can also work autonomously and with initiative
- A clear understanding of HSE principles and practice and commitment to safe working.
