How far is it from you?

Gurneys Cider is a family-owned cidery on a hillside just outside Foster, with views over Wilsons Promontory. We make traditional, small batch cider using fruit from our own heritage orchard, and we're looking for a proactive, trade-qualified technician to look after equipment reliability, line performance and preventative maintenance across our production facility.

The role
This role blends hands-on electrical and mechanical work with production scheduling, cider making and machinery operation. You'll:

  • Inspect, service and repair our facility and production equipment, including cider making machinery, fruit presses, large and small commercial pumps and small motors, to keep downtime to a minimum

  • Operate, troubleshoot and calibrate our canning and bottling lines, labelling systems and laser etching and coding equipment

  • Review our production workflows, remove bottlenecks and improve our standard operating procedures

  • Work with the production team to plan and adjust daily and weekly packaging schedules around maintenance

  • Champion workplace health and safety, conduct risk assessments, maintain machine safeguarding and make sure all electrical repairs meet regulatory standards

What you'll bring

  • A full electrical licence (A Grade or equivalent trade certification)

  • Proven electromechanical maintenance experience, including servicing machines and small motors

  • Hands-on experience operating, diagnosing and repairing automated canning, bottling, labelling and laser marking machinery

  • A sharp eye for detail, a root cause approach to problem solving and a drive to improve how things are done

  • The organisation to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment and fit maintenance around production runs

Why Gurneys

  • Full time role paying $75k to $95k a year

  • A role that combines electrical and mechanical work with a hand in making the cider itself

  • A hardworking team with a real passion for the craft

  • A stunning hillside setting overlooking Wilsons Promontory

If you're a qualified electrician who loves solving problems and wants to be part of a truly local product, we'd love to hear from you.
