Gippslander is a job website built specifically for Gippsland. That’s it. No Melbourne listings, no spam, no fluff — just real, local jobs from real, Gippsland employers.
I created it because, frankly, finding work in our region is harder than it should be. And I was tired of watching good jobs — and good people — miss each other completely.
If you’ve looked for a job in Gippsland recently, you’ve probably run into one of these:
First, the big city job sites. They’re fine if you’re sitting in a high-rise in Melbourne looking for your next corporate promotion, but not much help if you’re in Lakes Entrance or Paynesville trying to find a role that’s actually nearby. You type in “Gippsland” and get shown listings from the outer suburbs or some vague “regional Victoria” catch-all. Not helpful.
Then there’s Facebook. Look, I love a good community group — but finding the right job on there is like trying to find a post you saw yesterday and swear you saved. That perfect job? It’s now buried somewhere between a lost cat, a secondhand treadmill, and 43 people arguing about bin night. Blink and you miss it — gone in the scroll.
And unless you’re in the right loop, the “word of mouth” approach isn’t much better. Not everyone has a cousin’s mate who knows someone hiring.
That’s why I built Gippslander. A clean, easy-to-use job website focused entirely on Gippsland. Whether you’re after a part-time gig in Traralgon or a full-time role in Bairnsdale, this is the place to find work close to home — from local employers who actually get what living and working here is about.
The truth is, most regional areas already have their own local job websites — dedicated platforms that help keep jobs in the community. So why shouldn’t we? Gippsland deserves the same. We’re a big, diverse region with brilliant businesses and hardworking people. We shouldn’t have to rely on platforms built for the city.
But Gippslander is more than a website. It’s a passion project. I care deeply about keeping our region strong. When people can work where they live, they stay. They volunteer, shop local, join the local footy club. They’re part of the fabric that keeps a town ticking.
And because I live here too, I know how much it matters. Gippslander isn’t some shiny tech startup — it’s built from the ground up, by someone who just wanted to fix a problem.
There’s no login needed to browse jobs. No sneaky ads. Just a genuine platform that works for locals. And if you’re a business owner and need help writing your job ad — I’ll personally give you a hand. This isn’t automated or outsourced — it’s me, working with you to help find the right person.
Check it out at gippslander.com.au and help spread the word. Because finding work in Gippsland shouldn’t feel like a full-time job — it should feel like coming home.
