Kitchen Hand
Kitchen Hand
We are looking for an efficient, calm, and reliable Kitchen Hand to join the team at Gurneys Cidery. This role primarily focuses on our lunch service—preparing antipasto platters and making Roman-style Pinsa (pizza).
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced day shift, wants consistent hours, and is keen to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
Prep & Dough Management: Handle dough preparation/proofing, prepare antipasto items, and manage station setup.
Service: Assemble, cook, and serve Pinsa during lunch service with consistent quality and speed.
Events & Weddings: Assist with food prep and catering execution for weddings and special events held at the cidery.
Cleaning & Wash Up: Manage dishes, keep workstations tidy, and complete end-of-day kitchen close routines.
Inventory & Ordering: Help with stock takes and basic daily ingredient ordering.
Menu Development: Opportunity to contribute ideas and assist in expanding menu offerings over time.
What We Are Looking For
Calm & Efficient: Able to keep cool under pressure and maintain clean, organized work habits during busy lunch rushes.
Team Player: Willing to roll up your sleeves for everything from dough prep to dishes.
Experience: Kitchen experience (especially with dough or pizza making) is advantageous, but not essential—we are happy to train the right person with a strong work ethic.
Availability: Must be available Wednesday through Sunday (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
Why Join Us?
Work-Life Balance: Mostly day shifts and no split shifts, with minimal evening work.
Creative Input: Room to collaborate on expanding and evolving our menu offerings.
Stunning Location: Work in a beautiful cidery environment with a supportive team.
